We’ll hold onto wind in the higher foothills mainly this morning, otherwise we’ll start to warm up today and the rest of the week.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologists Chris Bianchi
We’ve got a cold start to this Wednesday, with metro area lows down into the teens and lower 20s, making it our coldest morning since late March! But, those temperatures will rebound quickly this morning.
In the foothills, gusty winds continue, with gusts up to 70 mph possible in the higher foothills along the peak-to-peak highway, and perhaps a few gusty winds moving down into the Boulder and Golden areas this morning. Otherwise, winds should gradually relax through the day today.
Highs will rebound to near 50° for a high in Denver today under mostly sunny skies, though we’ll have a few high clouds around this afternoon.
Temperatures will continue to climb underneath a ridge of high pressure, with a high approaching 60° on Thursday, and we’ll reach the low 60s on Friday. We might approach 70° on Saturday under downsloping (warming) winds before changes move in for the back half of the weekend and into next week.
Mountain snow starts back up on Sunday, and it’ll likely peak on Monday. In Denver, a storm system could bring us some lower-impact rain or snow showers into the metro area, likely later on Monday.
Next week looks generally cold and perhaps snowy, with a few snow chances likely through the majority of next week. It looks like Wednesday in particular could feature some snow, and it looks downright chilly for Wednesday and Thanksgiving with highs in the 30s likely both days in Denver.
We’ll keep you posted with the latest on that higher impact forecast with the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, but in the meantime, enjoy our warmer weather while it lasts!
