Police look for burglar in panda costume, others involved in Superior gas station thefts

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying three burglars from two gas station burglaries in Superior.

SUPERIOR, Colo. — The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday asked for the public’s help identifying burglars, including one in a panda costume, involved in two smash-and-grab thefts at a gas station in Superior.

The burglaries happened at the same gas station, a Safeway at 1603 Coalton Road, on Nov. 2 and Nov. 10. The burglars used rocks to smash a door and a window to steal tobacco and vaping products.

The sheriff’s office said it believes the burglars are three teenagers or young adults. They wore dark-colored pants or jeans, dark hoodies, and two of the three wore white sneakers.

One burglar carried a distinctive green backpack, and one a black backpack, and another wore flared jeans, according to the sheriff’s office. In the first incident, one burglar wore a distinctive panda costume.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office at BCSOtips@bouldercounty.gov or 303-441-3674, and reference cases 24-05635 and 24-05750.
