The shooting happened early Tuesday morning at West Belleview Avenue and Keenland Court, Littleton Police said.
LITTLETON, Colo. — A shooting involving officers from the Littleton Police Department sent one person to a hospital early Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for Littleton Police said the shooting occurred at around 3 a.m. near the intersection of West Belleview Avenue and Keenland Court in Englewood. That’s just west of the intersection of West Belleview Avenue and South Federal Boulevard.
The situation began when officers tried to make a traffic stop, police said. The driver of the vehicle sped away, eventually making their way to Keenland and Belleview. The person got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at officers who then fired, striking the person, according to police.
The person who was shot was rushed to a hospital. Their condition was not known.
No Littleton officers were injured, LPD said.
The Critical Incident Response Team from the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will be handling the investigation, officials said.
