LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — The Food Bank for Larimer County is thanking 9NEWS viewers’ generosity for their new food truck to serve the community.
Next with Kyle Clark hosted a micro-giving campaign in 2023 to raise money for the truck that would cost about $90,000 when fully outfitted for its needs. The micro-giving campaign raised about half of that.
“We are making food from scratch to give out to community members in Larimer County,” said CEO Amy Pezzani.
The truck is called the Lunch Lab. It travels around the county to meet kids where they’re at.
“So that might mean at a park, that might mean at a mobile home community, but we’re able to just pull it in with the food and distribute it right out of the food truck, which the kids love because, you know, it kind of makes them feel fancy,” Pezzani said.
The food bank says the new truck is a huge improvement over the last one.
“Well, first of all, it isn’t from the 1990’s,” Pezzani said. “So let’s start there. Secondarily, it runs smoothly. The interior is brand new. So, when we’re serving food, we have all new, you know, food safe surfaces.”
The Food Bank for Larimer County wants to thank you for making this food truck possible so they can keep serving the community who helped make it all happen.
“This truck really demonstrates the impact that a community can have,” Pezzani said. “It can turn into something like the Lunch Lab that can then have an in incredible impact on the entire community. Thank you so much to your community of supporters for showing up helping us with this truck and helping every year through 9 Cares Colorado Shares.”
