GREELEY, Colo. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting last weekend that killed a man near the University of Northern Colorado campus.
The Greeley Police Department said the shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the 2000 block of Ninth Avenue. Jesus Manuel Solis, 19 was found lying in the roadway, police said. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
On Friday, police announced the arrest of 19-year-old Marco Ruiz-Villescaz. They said he was arrested on Wednesday without incident on multiple charges including second-degree murder.
Even though Ruiz-Villescaz is in custody, police said they’re still looking into the exact events that led to the killing of Solis. Police said previously that they believed Solis and suspect knew each other, and “this was not a random attack.”
