According to an affidavit for her arrest, the victim’s parents discovered inappropriate messages on Instagram between their son and Castro when they attempted to confiscate his phone. They reported their son had logged out of the account and changed the passwords so they could no longer access it.

His father said he saw messages from a “Chloe Castro” and was familiar with the name due to her work at a school. He also said his son had sent multiple text messages to a contact named “Jeremy.”

When investigators later interviewed the victim, he confirmed that Castro’s number was saved under the name “Jeremy.” He went on to disclose a relationship with Castro and said he met her at the end of sixth grade and later she asked him to be her boyfriend. He said the two had plans to move to New Mexico to create a new life together, the affidavit says.

He also said Castro was married but told him that she had always wanted to love two people and her husband was fine with that, the affidavit says.

According to police, Castro met the victim while working in the district. In a message to families, the district said the victim is a former Jeffco student.

The district said Castro is currently on administrative leave, which prohibits her from having any contact with Jeffco students, staff, and families.
