DENVER — Colorado’s Halloween forecast will be a treat for trick-or-treating Thursday night.
The Denver area will reach the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies on Thursday, which is right around the normal for this time of year.
Trick-or-treating Thursday evening looks relatively comfortable up and down Colorado’s Front Range, with lows dropping into the 30s late Thursday, but temperatures will mainly be in the upper 40s and low 50s during the early evening.
“It will be a spooktacular evening for trick-or-treating,” the National Weather Service in Boulder said. “Temperatures will be in the lower to mid 50s late this afternoon, then fall into the 40s after sunset, witch is normal for this time of year.”
Colorado will be under the fringes of a ridge of high pressure over the next few days, keeping us tranquil and mild. That’ll tick up highs into the low 60s for tomorrow, and we’ll be in the mid-60s for Saturday.
Our next storm system approaches from the south and west on Sunday. While the computer forecast models are really struggling with this next storm, it appears clouds will increase on Sunday and Sunday night, with a chance for metro area rain or snow showers on Sunday night into Monday morning.
At this time, it looks like mainly rain in the Denver area. However, it could change over to snow, and we could also get a substantial foothills snow event above 7,000 feet in elevation. It’s still a bit early for details, but get ready for snow on Sunday night and Monday in the foothills and certainly in the mountains close to Denver.
Until then, enjoy the tranquil fall weather and relatively pleasant trick-or-treat forecast.
