Warm and windy Thursday as a weak dry front moves through. Elevated fire danger ahead of warm dry weekend.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
Warm, sunny weather continues, Wednesday, with afternoon temperatures in the middle 70s.
We’ll watch for a front to push in Thursday, brining gusty conditions and increasing fire concerns. No fire alerts are in-place, right now, but watch for winds to gust up to 40-50 mph across the foothills, and up to 30 mph around the Denver metro. Despite sunny, dry conditions, afternoon highs will drop just a tad, into the lower 70s.
A cool front will drop temperatures even further, Friday, with highs maxing out in the middle to upper 60s.
Temperatures bounce back into the middle to upper 70s, for the weekend, with a mix of sun and clouds. Anyone attending the Broncos game should plan on wearing your summer gear, as temperatures will be near 80 degrees during kickoff!
Next week, look for wintry changes to finally move into the Denver forecast! A strong storm is slated to approach from the west by Tuesday afternoon.
A Potential Impact Day has been called for Tuesday for the drastic drop in temperatures, going from nearly 80 degrees on Sunday, to near-freezing Tuesday night. Additionally, we’ll watch for the first Denver freeze of the season, as well as afternoon rain shower chances turning to overnight snow for the front range/eastern plains. Stay tuned for updates in the coming days, as the storm moves closer to Colorado!
