Mountain snow showers overnight Sunday, with isolated Denver rain showers Monday morning.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson
FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
Mountain snow showers continue to the southwest, late Sunday. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in-place through 9 p.m., across the San Juan Mountain Range. These areas should expect an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow, with gusty winds, creating hazardous travel conditions.
Across southern portions of the front range and eastern plains, heavy rain showers continue into the overnight hours. These areas are under Marginal and Slight risks for severe weather, with heavy rainfall, gusty winds and lightning/thunder being the biggest impacts.
For the front range, overnight conditions will stay dry and mild, with lows in the middle 40s. A chillier story for the four corners region, as lows could drop to 28 degrees, prompting a Freeze Warning from 10 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday.
Monday, we could start the day with a few early sprinkles across the Denver metro, while central and northern portions of the high country are looking to receive a couple inches to half a foot of new snow. No winter weather alerts are in-place for these areas, but be aware of possible slick roads through the high country during the morning hours.
Tuesday through next weekend, sunny and warm weather settles in. Plan for repeat afternoon highs in the lower to middle 70s.
By the way, we still haven’t officially had a freezing temperature in Denver so far this season. The normal first freeze is around October 7.
