DENVER — A stretch of East Colfax Avenue in Denver and Aurora was closed for hours due to police activity Wednesday.
The Denver Police Department said just before 11 a.m. Wednesday that officers were trying to contact someone in the 8800 block of East Colfax Avenue after a report of gun shots being fired. The road was closed between Alton and Xanthia streets.
No one was hit by the gunfire, police said.
Police said that just before 3:30 p.m. multiple people were taken into custody and that roads in the area had reopened.
