Near-record temperatures expected Monday afternoon, ahead of weekend showers.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson
FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
A chilly start to the day, Monday, with Frost Advisories in effect for the northern plains. Sedgwick, Phillips and Yuma counties should prepare for overnight lows to drop into the middle 30s, through the late morning hours.
Monday afternoon, temperatures will be nearly 15 degrees above our seasonal highs in the middle 60s. As Denver temperatures could reach the lower 80s, we’ll be approaching the record high of 85 degrees, last set in 1962.
Highs drop just a tad, Tuesday, behind a cool front. Expect temperatures to max out in the lower to middle 70s, under sunny skies and breezy, late-day winds.
Temperatures bounce back into the lower 80s, Wednesday, with more sunny and breezy conditions across the front range.
Look for temperatures to drop again, Thursday, with highs in the middle 70s. Partial cloud cover will likely move in, along with wind speeds picking up, gusting up to 30-40 mph.
Our next system is looking to bring some showers (and even mountain snow) for the back half of the week. Temperatures drop even further, Friday, into the middle 60s (seasonal for this time of year), with late-day showers across the front range and some light mountain snow. By Saturday, highs fall into the below-average range, in the middle 50s. Additionally, prepare for continued scattered showers throughout the day.
For the start of the next week, sunny skies return. Enjoy fall-like highs in the middle to upper 60s, next Sunday and Monday.
