The driver involved pulled over and called to report the crash, Brighton Police said.
BRIGHTON, Colo. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver early Tuesday morning in Brighton.
According to the Brighton Police Department, the driver reported the crash that happened about 5 a.m. on the frontage road on the west side of Interstate 76 between Bromley Lane and Bridge Street.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, a man, in the roadway with severe injuries. He later died from his injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the coroner’s office and notification of next of kin.
According to investigators, the victim was walking when he was hit by the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado. Police said the driver, a 38-year-old man, immediately pulled over and reported the crash. He was not hurt.
The frontage road was closed for several hours but reopened about 9:45 a.m.

Police are reminding pedestrians to wear light or reflective clothing, walk as far from traffic as possible if there is no sidewalk, and use well-lit areas when crossing roads without crosswalks or intersections.
