The remains were found Friday in the Officers Gulch area, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — An investigation is underway in Summit County after a hiker discovered human remains Friday afternoon near Officers Gulch.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said the body belonged to a man but was unable to provide further information due to the body’s condition. The body was transferred to the coroner’s office, which will work to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
The preliminary investigation found there was “no elevated risk to public safety,” the sheriff’s office said.
