Man arrested in connection to fatal stabbing of 20-year-old

The stabbing happened Sunday morning near the intersection of South Lipan Street and West Evans Avenue.

DENVER — A man is dead after a stabbing on Sunday, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said a suspect, 39-year-old Patrick Browne, was arrested for investigation of first-degree murder and felony menacing in connection with the stabbing of a 20-year-old man.

Sunday morning, DPD posted on X that they were investigating a stabbing near the area of South Lipan Street and West Evans Avenue. The victim was taken to the hospital. Browne was taken into custody at that time, police said. 

At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the department said the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital and the case is still under investigation.

Browne and the victim were involved in an argument that escalated to the fatal stabbing, according to DPD. Police said the men didn’t know each other.
