THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:

There is the potential for a 9NEWS Weather Impact Day on Tuesday afternoon as a powerful and organized storm front marches across the state. Thunderstorm driven wind gusts could be stronger the 60 mph on the Front Range.

The wave of storms will start on the western slope around sunrise and move across from west to east. It should reach the Front Range by about 2pm. Rain and hail are expected to be low impact, but the winds could be a rough ride for an hour or two.

Once the storms reach the eastern plains, large hail could become an issue along with the same damaging wind potential.

There should be a few warm and sunny days following the front Wed-Fri before another low-pressure system moves into our area. It looks like a southern storm track which could bring a nice cool upslope rain event to the Front Range around Saturday while cooling the afternoon highs down into the low 70’s over the weekend.
