An overnight cool front brought cooler air and less wind. Afternoon sunshine with highs in the lower 80s Friday with less fire danger. Sunny warmer weekend ahead
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
An overnight cold front will keep high temperatures significantly cooler on Friday. A high of 83 degrees in Denver would be 10 degrees cooler than the previous day.
We’ll see mostly clear blue skies around the area with a little haze from wildfire smoke streaming in from out of state. That should mix out a little bit in the late afternoon as a few clouds form over the Front Range.
On Saturday morning, Denver could get the coldest temperature in 105 days. It hasn’t dropped below 50 degrees since May 31, which is currently the third longest streak above 49 degrees in history. The low temperature forecast in Denver is 50 degrees.
For the weekend, expect a sunny, dry and warm couple of days. Highs will likely stay in the upper 80s and could even top out at 90 degrees at Denver International Airport. Skies will be mostly sunny giving way to some afternoon cloud cover both days. Great football weather conditions for the Rocky Mountain Showdown and the Broncos home opener.
As we go into the next workweek, we get a perfectly timed trough of low pressure that will usher in true fall weather conditions towards the end of the week with lows in the upper 40’s and highs in the low 70’s Friday and Saturday.
