Procession, memorial service being held Saturday for Arvada firefighter killed in crash

Kyle Trombly, at 13-year veteran with Arvada Fire, died in a two-car crash last month while he was off-duty.

ARVADA, Colo. — A procession and memorial service are taking place Saturday for an Arvada firefighter who was killed in a crash last month.

Kyle Trombly, 34, died following the crash on Aug. 25 while he was off-duty. He had been with Arvada Fire for 13 years.

Trombly started his firefighting journey by volunteering at Fairmount Fire before joining Arvada Fire. He was also an active member of the Arvada Fire Honor Guard.

The procession is scheduled to begin around 8:30 a.m. at Arvada Fire Station 1, located at 7900 W. 57th Ave. 

It will travel west on West 57th Avenue, north on Independence Street, west on West 58th Avenue, and then north on Ward Road.

The procession will end at Faith Church located at 6250 Wright St. where the memorial service is being held.

A road closure on Zephyr Street between West 57th Avenue and Grandview Avenue will go into effect at 7 a.m. Saturday for procession setup.

The memorial service, which will be livestreamed in this article, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

The service is not open to the public.
