Another warm day, spotty storms to the west

Spotty storms to the west, moving across the Palmer Divide this evening.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson

THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:

It looks like our 90-degree stretch continues, with Denver highs expected to reach 90, again, Tuesday afternoon.

To the west, look for scattered showers and storms across the foothills and high country after 2 p.m. By dinner time, anyone across the Palmer Divide should prepare for an isolated, gusty storm, lasting into the overnight hours. Lows remain mild, in the upper 50s/lower 60s.

As for wildfire smoke from the Pacific Northwest, pushing into the northern front range, we’ll continue to see the haze linger and even intensify through this afternoon. The good news is, late tonight, the smoke should lift northward and out of Colorado. So expect healthier skies for your Wednesday afternoon!

While wildfire smoke moves out, cloud cover will linger Wednesday. Additionally, afternoon highs will drop a tad, into the middle to upper 80s. During the afternoon hours, watch for brief, scattered showers and storms across the front range, turning into larger evening storms across the plains.

Hot, sunny weather returns Thursday, with highs in the 90s, yet again.

For the weekend, plan for lots of sunshine! Temperatures will be closer to seasonal, peaking in the middle to upper 80s, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

TUESDAY: Increasing clouds, with a chance for a gusty afternoon shower or storm, high 90. Mostly cloudy overnight, low 60.
