CU and CSU football won’t stage a Rocky Mountain Showdown until 2029. The Buffs won last year’s meeting in double-overtime.

BOULDER, Colo. — University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders will address the media Tuesday ahead of this weekend’s Rocky Mountain Showdown against Colorado State.

The CU football press conference is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Colorado Buffaloes are preparing for a rematch against Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell and the Rams in the Rocky Mountain Showdown rivalry game, which CU won 43-35 last year in double-overtime in Boulder.

The Buffs (1-1) will try to regroup this weekend after a humiliating 28-10 loss against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday in Lincoln. The Rams (1-1) are coming off a 38-7 win on Saturday over the Northern Colorado Bears in Fort Collins.

The football contest between Colorado and Colorado State won’t be held again until the 2029 season.

CU Athletics announced Monday its homecoming game against Baylor on Saturday, Sept. 21, will kick off at 6 p.m. and be televised nationally on FOX.

The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders will appear on all four networks in the same season for the first time in school history. Games this season are now scheduled to air on FOX, CBS, ABC and NBC.

The Baylor game will be the first Big 12 Conference game for the Buffaloes in 13 years. Tickets for the game at Folsom Field sold out in August.

Colorado’s Week 1 season opener vs. North Dakota State was ESPN’s highest-rated college football opener in seven years, garnering an average of 4.8 million viewers.

“Whether you like it or not, you want to see it,” Sanders said of his program.

The Colorado-Baylor game was the second CU game to sell out this season, along with the Family Weekend contest on Oct. 26 against Cincinnati. CU Athletics said fans interested in purchasing tickets for the Baylor or Cincinnati games can purchase via CU’s official secondary partner SeatGeek.
