The Denver area will be flirting with the 90-degree mark for the next 5 days with limited rain chances.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
The high temperature in Denver could hit 90 degrees on Sunday as summer weather hangs on for a few more days. That would be the 58th 90-degree day of the year if it does end up that warm and bring us closer to making the top 5 most of all-time.
Also expect a dry day with a slight haze from wildfire smoke filtering in from the Pacific Northwest.
There will be another round of scattered thunderstorms in the mountains starting in the early afternoon and lasting to about sunset. Rain showers are unlikely in the Denver area but there’s a better chance on the northern Front Range near Fort Collins.
By the middle of next week, a storm system will approach Colorado from the west. That will kick up the wind which isn’t good news with this very warm weather. We will have to keep a close eye on the fire danger by next Wednesday and Thursday.
As that system swipes passed the state on Friday, it will likely drop the temperatures a few degrees with highs possibly in the middle or low 80’s next weekend.
