Summer hanging on with warm and dry weather into the weekend and beyond.

Warmer than normal temperatures are in the forecast for the next seven days in Denver with a few 90’s possible.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen

THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:

After Thursday’s brief taste of fall, it’s back to summer today and likely for the foreseeable future across Denver and most of Colorado, along with mostly dry conditions.

A ridge of high pressure gradually builds in the wake of Thursday’s trough that brought us some needed rain and a brief taste of fall weather. That means we dry things out and warm up with above-average temperatures likely into the weekend and beyond.

For Saturday morning, there is some potential for the low temperature to drop into the 40’s in Denver for the first time since May 31 as clear skies promote radiational cooling. If it stays above 49 degrees however, the streak of consecutive days above that mark, which would become 98 days, could start reaching record territory.

Then expect mostly sunny skies early giving way to a few afternoon clouds with high temperatures in the upper 80’s across the Front Range. A few showers will attempt to develop in the late afternoon, but they will be short-lived with very little rain actually making it to the ground. Most of the area will stay dry.

-Isolated thunderstorms will be able to develop over parts of the mountains between 2-7pm.

We’ll see temperatures rise a bit on Sunday with a better chance to hit the 90-degree mark in Denver. Much of the same on Monday and Tuesday while temperatures drop slightly heading into the next weekend — however still remaining above normal for this time of year.
