DENVER — A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of another man in a gas station parking lot earlier this month, the Denver Police Department said.
Deangelo Luarks, 40, is being held on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting, which happened around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 3 in the parking lot of the Circle K at 1300 West Colfax Avenue. Luarks was arrested on a parole violation warrant in another city on Friday, police said in an arrest affidavit.
The shooting victim was a 31-year-old man, police said. His name has not yet been released.
According to an arrest affidavit, surveillance video showed the suspect and a woman who was with him appeared to be arguing, and “the victim appeared to verbally interact with the suspect.” Police described the interaction as an argument that escalated to a shooting.
Luarks’ next court appearance is set for Friday.
