A few squally snow showers will be possible in the mountains Monday while the Front Range enjoys more mild temperatures.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen

The Forecast at a Glance:

One storm system is moving up from the south of Colorado keeping isolated rain showers in the forecast for the southeast corner of the state. And another storm system will be approaching from the west.

Expect a few squally snow showers to move across the Colorado mountains in the late morning and early afternoon, turning to more widespread mountain snow by about 9 or 10 pm.

Winter weather advisories are not expected as the snow accumulation should stay on the modest side with 1-6 inches by Tuesday afternoon. However, wind gusts could reach the 50-mph range in some spots.

On the Front Range urban corridor, expect a few more clouds on Monday but with temperatures still reaching into the middle to upper 50’s. It will likely be another breezy day but winds generally staying lighter than 20 mph.

Temperatures drop significantly on Tuesday as a wave of early morning snow showers move across the Denver area. Little to no accumulation is forecast but expect a cool and breezy day with high temperatures possibly staying in the 30’s in the Denver area.

On the back end of the storm, look for chilly, breezy conditions lasting into Wednesday, but then high pressure regains its hold on the region with a warm end to the week. Highs will be close to 60 degrees in Denver Thursday. through Sunday.
