Winter Weather and travel advisories are posted for the northern mountains tonight for 4-8″ of snow as a Pacific cold front moves in from the west
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Keely Chalmers
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
Today, we begin with mild weather ahead of a Pacific cold front that is moving toward Colorado from the west. Look for partly cloudy skies in Denver with an increase in wind. Afternoon temperatures will remain mild in the lower to middle 50s. This system will bring mountain snow showers, 2-4″ over 24 hours. A winter advisory is posted for parts of the northern mountains this afternoon into tomorrow morning. The advisory includes the Park and Elkhead Mountains including Rabbit Ears Pass where 5-10″ of snow could fall.
As this system moves east there is a 20% chance of a brief shower for lower elevations including Denver possibly mixing with snow overnight but westerly down sloping winds will not allow much of this moisture to make it to the ground.
Clearing tomorrow night with lows in the lower 30s.
Mild dry weather returns midweek statewide with seasonal highs forecast into the weekend!
