BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Boulder Falls, a popular waterfall area off Highway 119 in Boulder Canyon, is closed after a rockslide damaged the trail, the city’s parks department said.
The department said recent weather conditions at the waterfall west of Boulder likely triggered soil movement, causing a slide that damaged key trail infrastructure designed to capture rocks and sediment from the hillside.
The department said they are assessing the damage to determine what work will be necessary to restore access to the area. There’s no timeline for when it might reopen. The department said they’ll provide more information once an assessment is completed.
