Lots of melting this week with mild dry weather through the weekend. A Tuesday cool front will bring mountain snow and wind with isolated showers to Denver
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Kathy Sabine
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
High pressure over the region Sunday and Monday brought sunshine and mild weather. Afternoon temperatures have ranged from the upper 40s in snow covered areas like DIA, to the mid 50s downtown, to even warmer 60s to the north where very little snow was reported.
Overnight, clear skies continue, with cool lows in the lower 30s and a dense fog advisory east.
Tuesday, mild weather to start ahead of a Pacific cold front we are tracking moving toward Colorado from the west. Look for partly cloudy skies in Denver with an increase in wind. Mild afternoon temperatures in the lower to middle 50s. This system will bring mountain snow showers, 2-4″ over 24 hours. At this point there are no winter weather or travel advisories posted. As this system moves east there is a 20% chance of a brief shower for lower elevations including Denver but westerly down sloping winds will not allow much of this moisture to make it to the ground.
Clearing tomorrow night with lows in the lower 30s.
Mild dry weather returns midweek statewide with seasonal highs forecast into the weekend!
