Eldora, Winter Park, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Loveland will begin operations this week.
WINTER PARK, Colo. — Get those skis and snowboards waxed as more Colorado ski areas open this week.
Boulder County’s Eldora opens Thursday, with Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Winter Park joining in on the fun on Friday. Loveland Ski Area will open on Saturday.
Eldora said the Alpenglow chair will open at 9 a.m. Thursday, allowing skiers and boarders access to 1,000 vertical feet of terrain including Hornblower, Windmill and International trails, along with a small terrain park by West Wing Lodge.
Winter Park said its Gemini Express lift will be open with access to Village Way and Lower Parkway.
Breckenridge, which got walloped with an impressive 18-inch snow storm on Monday, received another 5 inches from Tuesday into Wednesday.
Copper Mountain received 7 inches from Tuesday’s storm. All three ski areas will open at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Loveland’s Chet’s Dream chairlift opens Saturday, providing access to Cat Walk, Mambo, and Home Run trails, the ski area said.
The list of ski resorts and areas opening in Colorado is growing.
Wolf Creek Ski Area was the first ski slope to open in Colorado this season on Oct. 22. Keystone and Arapahoe Basin opened on Nov. 2.
