THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:

This weekend is shaping up to be a great one to get outside and enjoy a last taste of Spring-like weather before wintry weather moves in. Today’s highs soar into the middle 60s. We’ll be in the upper 50s tomorrow.

Sunshine sticks around for the first half of our day Sunday, ahead of wintry weather moving in. We’ll start the day with highs in the upper 50s (seasonal for this time of year), while snow showers begin to fill-in across the high country. By Sunday evening, prepare for gusty winds to pickup, along with a rain/snow mix across the foothills and rain showers along the front range/eastern plains.

By early Monday morning, rain showers should transition into snow showers. We are calling for a weather impact day on Monday with 1-3″ forecast to fall in the Denver-metro area. The higher amounts look to fall south of downtown. Bottom line, prepare for hazardous travel for that Monday morning commute! We’re not looking for much snow accumulation through the Urban Corridor, but look for some slush on the streets and lightly dusted lawns. Again, those amounts will increase as you head south on I-25 from downtown Denver.  Monday afternoon, the system begins to move out, leaving chilly temperatures behind. Highs are likely to max out in the lower 40s.

Election Day is Tuesday, and the skies will clear out through the afternoon hours, but temperatures only rise into the lower 50s.

A colder storm is looking to arrive by Wednesday, and this one could bring a few inches of snow to the metro area. It’s still early, but stay tuned of the coming days for more details!
