Police investigating overnight homicide in Loveland

Friday night, officers received a call for a welfare check from someone who said she couldn’t get ahold of her mother and was worried something had happened to her.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A man is in custody and a homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a Loveland residence Friday night, according to a release from the Loveland Police Department.

Just before 7 p.m. Friday, officers received a call for a welfare check in the 3700 block of Foothills Drive, the release said. The caller reportedly said she was worried something had happened to her mother and that she was not able to get ahold of her. 

When police arrived at the home, they found a man identified in the release as 30-year-old Michael Fuller. Officers then noticed a woman lying on the floor inside while trying to get Fuller to step outside the residence to speak with them, according to the release.

Officers then entered the home, confirmed the woman was dead, and took Fuller into custody.

Fuller was booked into the Larimer County Jail on the following charges, the release said:

  • First-degree murder
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Violation of a protection order

The victim’s identity and official cause of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office. No further information was shared about the case, as the investigation is ongoing.
