A man was shot twice by a deputy after firing a gun early Sunday morning, investigators said.
WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A man was injured in a shooting involving Weld County Sheriff’s Office deputies early Sunday morning.
Deputies responded around 12:16 a.m. for a reported disturbance in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue Lane in unincorporated Weld County and encountered an armed man, according to a release from the 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).
The man fired the gun while deputies were on scene and one deputy fired his weapon, hitting the man twice, the release says.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. No other injuries were reported.
