Elevated fire danger with windy warm conditions today and tomorrow. Slow cooling trend begins tomorrow ahead of Friday showers
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Kathy Sabine
FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
Windy and warmer today with elevated fire danger as we track a weekend storm that will bring cooler weather and the chance for rain and snow to the state!
Temperatures will bounce back into the high 70s, low 80s this afternoon with more sunny and breezy conditions across the front range.
Look for temperatures to cool a bit tomorrow with highs in the mid 70s. Partial cloud cover will likely move in, along with wind speeds picking up, gusting up to 30-40 mph.
Our next system is looking to bring some showers, mountain snow, and a rain/snow mix for the foothills for the weekend. Temperatures drop even further, Friday, into the middle 60s (seasonal for this time of year), with late-day showers across the front range and some light mountain snow. By Saturday, highs fall into the below-average range, in the middle 50s. Additionally, prepare for continued scattered showers throughout the day.
For the start of the next week, sunny skies return. Enjoy fall-like highs in the middle to upper 60s, next Sunday and Monday.
