Warm, dry weather to start the week but many areas could see much needed precipitation and cooler weather by the weekend!
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Keely Chalmers
FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
After making it into the 80s yesterday, highs drop down into the lower 70s today with the arrival of a weak dry cold front this morning. Expect temperatures to max out in the lower 70s under sunny skies and gusty foothill winds.
If you notice a haze, it’s due to wildfire smoke in the air. Heavier smoke will move over the far eastern plains.
Temperatures bounce back into the lower 80s tomorrow with more sunny and breezy conditions across the front range.
Look for temperatures to drop again, Thursday, with highs in the mid 70s. Partial cloud cover will likely move in, along with wind speeds picking up, gusting up to 30-40 mph.
Our next system is looking to bring some showers, mountain snow, and a rain/snow mix for the foothills for the weekend. Temperatures drop even further, Friday, into the middle 60s (seasonal for this time of year), with late-day showers across the front range and some light mountain snow. By Saturday, highs fall into the below-average range, in the middle 50s. Additionally, prepare for continued scattered showers throughout the day.
For the start of the next week, sunny skies return. Enjoy fall-like highs in the middle to upper 60s, next Sunday and Monday.
