High pressure will bring warm dry weather for the rest of the week. Above average highs in the 80s expected through Saturday with little precipitation.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Chris Bianchi
FORECAST AT A GLANCE: We’re not getting much of a break from this mid-summer-like weather pattern, with highs in the low 80s and more wildfire smoke our main weather stories for Tuesday.
High temperatures will top out about 15 degrees above average again Wednesday and we’ll be fairly close to our daily record high temperature of 85° in Denver. That said, wildfire smoke will be our main weather impact, with more plumes of smoke likely thanks to fires in Wyoming and Utah.
The smoke will probably be at its thickest Tuesday morning, as more westerly winds this afternoon should start to push out some of the smoke overhead. An Air Quality Alert is in place until 4 p.m. Tuesday for the I-25 corridor due to wildfire smoke.
Meanwhile, it’s more of the same for basically the rest of the week. Highs will be in the low-to-mid 80s all week long, and mainly dry. There’s a slight chance for a brief gusty shower today or tomorrow in the mountains, but even in the high country, almost everyone will stay dry.
Our next change comes on Sunday and Monday, with highs dropping into the 70s both days though it’ll likely stay dry in Denver even with a cold front moving through. There are hints that next week should feel a bit more like, well, fall, especially towards the end of it.
Until then, it’s smoky and hot: Limit that time outdoors if you can today, especially this morning, due to the wildfire smoke.
