Record highs, increased fire danger expected Saturday

Record-breaking highs are expected, Saturday afternoon, along with increased fire danger across most of the front range, plains.

THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE: 

Afternoon highs rebound into the middle 80s, Friday afternoon, just a few degrees short of Denver’s record high of 87 degrees. 

Across north-central Colorado, Red Flag Warnings are in-place through Friday evening. Portions of Grand, Larimer, Jackson and Boulder counties should watch for increased fire danger. 

Saturday, sunny, warm weather sticks around. Denver is expecting afternoon highs near 87 degrees, which could break the record high of 86 degrees, last set in 1997. 

Additionally, Red Flag Warnings expand across most of the high country, foothills, front range and plains, Saturday afternoon. Watch for warm weather, dry air and gusty winds to continue to increase fire danger through the evening hours. 

Temperatures cool a bit, Sunday, behind a weak cool front. Enjoy a fall-like afternoon, with highs dropping into the upper 70s. 

As we move into the next workweek, sunny, dry, warm weather refuses to exit Colorado. Expect continued sunshine and repeat highs in the lower to middle 80s through next Friday. 

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 85 (record: 87°). Mostly clear overnight, low 55.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, breezy and warm, with increased fire danger, high 87 (record: 86°). Mostly clear overnight, low 46.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and a tad cooler, high 79. Mostly clear overnight, low 50.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 81. Mostly clear overnight, low 51.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 83 (record: 85°). Partly cloudy overnight, low 53.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 84 (record: 87°). Partly cloudy overnight, low 53.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 83. Mostly clear overnight, low 52.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, high 82. Mostly clear overnight, low 52.
