The right lane of Interstate 70 eastbound was closed between Colorado Mills Parkway and 32nd Avenue because of a stalled semi.
GOLDEN, Colo. — Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for a while Thursday afternoon after a truck caught on fire near Colorado Mills Parkway, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
CDOT said I-70 was closed due to a stalled vehicle in the area. Sky9 showed a stalled semi-truck. A 9NEWS viewer sent a photo of the semi with smoke coming out of it and flames underneath.
The highway closure was between Exit 263, Colorado Mills Parkway, and Exit 264, 32nd Avenue.
Lakewood Police said a truck caught on fire after the driver rode the brakes too hard while driving on I-70 out of the foothills.
