Denver could reach (or break) another record high temperature as we log another 90-degree day, Sunday.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson
TODAY AT A GLANCE:
Colorado’s hot, dry stretch of weather continues.
Saturday, afternoon highs reach the upper 80s, nearly 15 degrees warmer that our seasonal high of 74 degrees.
Saturday evening, temperatures stay mild, with lows only dropping into the upper 50s. Additionally, wind speeds will increase around sunset, gusting in from the south around 10 to 20 mph.
We’re not quite done with our ever-growing accumulation of 90-degree days! Sunday, highs are looking to reach the lower 90s, which could match (or break) our existing record high of 92 degrees, last set in 1892.
Warm, sunny, dry weather continues through most of the next week. For the first day of October, Tuesday, a weak front pushes through, dropping highs into a more seasonal range, maxing out in the middle 70s. Every other day of the week, prepare for afternoon temperatures in the 80s.
Note: It’s been a very warm September, in Denver, with an average temperature of 69.8° through the 27th. We are currently in first place on the list of warmest Septembers observed. Unfortunately, our very warm forecast will ensure we keep this ranking in Denver’s weather history.
