Here’s how much rain fell across Colorado

Storms brought rain and snow into Colorado this weekend. Here is how much rain fell around the state.

DENVER — It’s the first day of fall and the weather already feels more seasonal. Storms moved across the state late Saturday and into Sunday, bringing with them snow and rain.

While most of the large amounts fell along the front range, here is how much rain fell across the state in the last 24 hours according to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network:

  • 4 miles NW of Buena Vista – 1.32 inches
  • Boulder – 1.12 inches
  • Carbondale – 1.11 inches
  • Arvada – 0.90 inches
  • Wheat Ridge – 0.86 inches
  • Buena Vista – 0.81 inches
  • Gunnison – 0.81 inches
  • Trinidad – 0.80 inches
  • Alamosa – 0.75 inches
  • Denver – 0.66 inches
  • Salida – 0.53 inches
  • Canon City – 0.52 inches

  • Castle Rock – 0.34 inches
  • Montrose – 0.34 inches
  • Pueblo – 0.33 inches
  • Fort Collins – 0.19 inches
  • Grand Junction – 0.15 inches

The week ahead looks like it will be on the quiet side with plenty of sunshine and very mild temperatures statewide. A weak weather system will pass by the state late Monday and early Tuesday. It could kick off a few scattered showers but that would mostly be confined to the mountains.

Some of the forecast models show temperatures as warm as the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in Denver by the middle of the week. That is unusually warm for this time of year and flirting with record levels. For now, we will keep our highs in the lower to middle 80s in Denver, but we’ll need to keep a close eye on just how strong the incoming ridge of high pressure will be.
