Dave Gettleman, who did an awful job in four years, announced his retirement Monday.

His replacement faces a big task with fixing the Giants, who were 10-23 in two seasons under Judge and 19-46 since they hired Gettleman.

So as John Mara’s search heats up, let’s break down what has happened — and what’s next — in this hunt for Gettleman’s replacement. The first two days were already quite busy.

Keep it right here Wednesday for all your live updates from the Giants’ GM search.

• The Giants will be interviewing Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen via Zoom on Wednesday morning. Schoen is viewed as one of the early front-runners for the job. Cardinals vice president of player personnel Quentin Harris will also interview via Zoom. Expect others from their list of requested interviews to join them, too.

• Tuesday night, former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress tweeted who he thinks the Giants should hire as GM: ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, who spent six years in the Eagles front office and seven with Washington prior to becoming a broadcaster. He interviewed for the Giants GM job in 2018 too. The Giants have given no indication they intend to interview him yet.

• Tuesday night, the Giants added an intriguing candidate to their interview list: Ravens director of player personnel Jon Hortiz, according to New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard. He’s been with the Ravens for his entire career, which began in 1998, and has learned his craft from Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome — one of the most successful and influential executives in modern history — and current GM Eric DeCosta. He’s run the Ravens draft in recent years — and it’s no coincidence that Baltimore is consistently one of the best drafting teams.

With Hortiz in the mix, that brings the Giants’ list of requested interviews up to nine. The others:

Ryan Poles, Chiefs executive director of player personnel

Joe Schoen, Bills assistant GM

Ryan Cowden, Titans vice president of player personnel

Monti Ossenfort, Titans director of player personnel

Adrian Wilson, Cardinals vice president of pro personnel

Quentin Harris, Cardinals vice president of player personnel

Adam Peters, 49ers assistant GM

Ran Carthon, 49ers director of player personnel
