Former Chiefs, Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell is signing with the Ravens – Arrowhead Pride

Former Kansas City Chiefs (and New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers) running back Le’Veon Bell is signing on to join the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter noted he is likely to be added to the 53-man roster soon.

Bell, 29, appeared in nine games for the Chiefs in 2020, carrying the ball 63 times for 254 yards and two touchdowns and also recorded 13 catches for 99 yards. He had two touches during the postseason.

This offseason, the running back made headlines when he said he would rather retire from the NFL than play for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid another season. Bell later said he did not regret his words but apologized for not keeping them to himself.

Safety Tyrann Mathieu and Reid later weighed in on the matter during a press conference, with Mathieu calling Bell a “great teammate,” and Reid saying he enjoyed his time with him while he was in Kansas City.

The Chiefs visit the Ravens Week 2 for Sunday Night Football. It is unclear at the time of this writing if Bell will even be on the active roster for the game.
